Garden paths from glass bottles

The original path from plastic bottles is the pride of the summer resident

More recently, plastic bottles have been garbage for the whole world, besides, which decomposes over several centuries.

Thanks to folk craftsmen, they found various creative applications and one of the directions - decorative country paths.

We hand over to the collection point

The reception points will gladly take the most diverse glass packaging:

  • bottles of drinks (including beer, wine and vodka and champagne)
  • jars and jars of various capacities for food
  • vials and other glass packaging for pharmaceuticals
  • jars and bottles for household chemicals and perfumes.

Flasks, test tubes, beakers and other "laboratory" flasks at the reception center may not take.

At reception points, glass containers usually have two different prices. One is for intact packaging, the other is for a bat (cracked, chipped).

The cullet cannot be re-filled with anything, it cannot be sold to the cannery, and such containers go to the landfill (most often) or (much less often) melt down.

Therefore, it is quite logical that it costs less. The inspectors always inspect bottle necks with particular care.

Disadvantages of glass paths

  • Glass is quite fragile, so you should not drop heavy objects on top of it. If the glass breaks, you can get hurt. By the way, you can gently mow down the grass near the bottles without any problems, they will not crack from this.
  • It should also be remembered that the glass surface conducts heat, heats up from the sun, although this is not critical.
  • Another disadvantage is that the bottles can get dirty, for example, after rain, but they are easily rinsed out of the hose during watering.
  • Sometimes a weed sprouts right between the bottles, then it is difficult to get it out of there. Here herbicides will come to your aid.
  • As for the seasonal factor (sometimes, after winter, the bottles can "disperse" due to subsidence of the soil), with proper packing of the container, this problem can be avoided or the fence can be quickly corrected.

Garden paths from scrap materials

To decorate your garden, courtyard or recreation area in a private and country house with garden paths, it is not necessary to purchase expensive materials. Sometimes, paths that are beautiful and in harmony with the surrounding landscape can be paved with materials that have already been used earlier in other projects.

Garden paths from old boards

Planks that are not rotten or rotten, which previously served as a fence, may well be suitable for the role of material for a garden path. The start of work will consist in preparing parts of the former fence for further exploitation.

You will need to remove the remnants of the old paint, sand the boards and cover them with varnish, preferably deck or resistant to different weather conditions and temperature extremes.

After that, having cleared the planned paths, you can lay out the prepared wooden elements on the compacted ground.

Garden paths from branches

Branches can also be excellent material for creating tracks. They need to be cleaned of small knots and foliage, and relatively even specimens should be picked up. With such branches, the paths are laid out along the edges. The paths look very organic within the garden.

Edges of paths made of pebbles or wine bottles

Sometimes the owners of private houses, during the improvement of their own plot, want the edges of the paved path to be non-standard. Wine bottles, if there are enough of them, or pebbles, can be an excellent decorative solution in this case.

Bottles can be placed with the bottom or top up, or they can be stacked on their side. The edges of the paths, decorated with pebbles, look even more interesting. The stones need to be selected of approximately the same size and they should be laid in several rows.

Paths from old tiles

If after repairing a bathroom or kitchen you have pieces of tiles or whole pieces of tiles, do not rush to throw them away. In the future, they may well come in handy for creating tracks. It is enough to combine them with the main materials in a harmonious composition. This path will be unique.

Garden paths made of beer bottles

Another fun and easy way to pave your garden path is to use empty beer bottles. The bottom part of them, even from different manufacturers, is the same and quite strong.

To make a path, the bottles must be dug into the ground with their neck down. The bottom part must be left raised above the ground and then sprinkled with earth, gravel or sand to level the path.

Garden cascades from old tires

Rubber already unsuitable for a car can be used in the design of the shoulders of garden paths. This design is relevant for sloped areas. With the help of tires, you can level the place for the trails and arrange flower beds on the sides of them.

Having covered the tires with earth and tamped it well, you will get a path in the form of steps, convenient for areas with a slope.

Pallet paths

Pallets, which undergo special processing and do not deteriorate for a long time, can also be used as material for laying garden paths. To do this, the pallets must be disassembled and the boards of the same length must be selected. Additionally, they can be processed by varnishing.

Paths from wood cuts

The paths paved with tree cuts look very impressive. The main thing is not to take rotten wood for these works. To prepare the materials, cut the wood into pieces of equal thickness. Next, the cuts need to be arranged so that the track is the same width along the entire length.

Garden paths in the form of wooden sleepers

The boards for laying out the track can be used in an unusual way, imitating a railroad. To do this, the boards must be laid out at an equal distance from each other and fine gravel or gravel must be poured between them. Materials with contrasting color shades will look good.
